Optical window

Optical windows are flat, parallel, transparent optical surfaces designed to protect sensors and other electronics from environmental conditions.
Optical window selection considerations include material transmission properties as well as scattering, intensity, and resistance to certain environments. Their use should not affect the magnification of the system. The optical window can be optically polished and contains an element for diffusing the light source to control the illumination.

Antireflection coatings can be applied to ensure maximum transmission performance at specific wavelengths. Windows are made from a variety of materials, including UV fused silica, quartz, infrared crystals, and optical glass. Our optical window properties include X-ray protection, UV-browning resistance, and light transmission from deep UV to far infrared.

Optical window products include wedges, substrates, discs, planes, plates, rods, protective windows, laser windows, camera windows, light guides and domes. Used by scientific and industrial companies in the fields of medical, defense, instrumentation, lasers, research and imaging.
